The parliament buildings provided the ideal setting for Mobile Imaging to accept presentation of its IANZ accreditation certificate on May 6. The unit was part of a one-day event in Wellington, showcasing 11 mobile health units that provide a variety of healthcare services throughout New Zealand.
IANZ which stands for International Accreditation New Zealand is recognised around the world. It protects the health and wealth of New Zealand by ensuring that the companies who test or inspect the products and services you buy, consume, use, or are surrounded by every day, are safe, accurate, and aren’t doing us harm.
IANZ do this by ensuring testing laboratories, inspection bodies, building consent authorities and medical imaging providers meet international standards and can demonstrate that they are competent.
Sharon Mawhinney, Senior Operations Manager: Healthcare Programmes for IANZ travelled to Wellington to kindly present the certificate to Jess Fagan (Molecular Imaging and Theranostics Operations Manager at Mercy Radiology) and Mark Eager (Chief Executive of Mobile Health Group).
“IANZ prioritises our philosophy of ‘protecting the health of New Zealand’ through our healthcare accreditation programmes, and we believe progressive developments such as Mobile Imaging services are the way of the future to enable all our people to receive the care they need, in the timeframes they need,” Sharon Mawhinney says.
She adds, “We are impressed at the innovative and forward-thinking of Mark and his team to be able to bring this imaging technology to life and deliver it to those who need it most. We commend all those involved in the project on such an incredible achievement and working so hard to enable the accreditation process to proceed so smoothly. This is not only a major accomplishment, but recognition of the high quality, global standards to which you operate and deliver your service.”
Mark Eager says, “The IANZ accreditation symbol provides assurance and confidence for patients onboard Mobile Imaging, and that the services we provide are tested, robust and as good as any in the world. We thank Sharon for the time and effort she took to present us with the certificate of accreditation and recognise our new service. We are thrilled to now be on the road and servicing patients.”
